This chipotle chile powder is super simple to make! Using a blend of smoky ground peppers and flavourful spices, it literally takes minutes to make and will flavour fabulously, season beautifully and add mouthwatering aromas to many of your home cooked meals. (See the bottom of the page for links to more of my recipes)
What You'll Need: (makes about 9 tablespoons)
4 tbsp ground chipotle pepper
2 tbsp smoked paprika powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp fine sea salt
tbsp = tablespoon
tsp = teaspoon
Directions:
That's all there is to it!
Store your chipotle powder in a cool place powder in an airtight jar and out of direct sunlight.
Use within 3 months before rustling up a fresh amount.
Note: You can easily buy ground chipotle pepper online nowadays.
Note 2: You can use regular table salt for this recipe, however, I prefer to use a quality fine
sea/rock/kosher salt. This is less processed than table salt and therefore a bit healthier.
Note: If you've read through the site you'll have noticed I nearly always use a few whole spices which I then grind before combining with other ingredients in my recipes. However, I realise you may not have them available whole so the recipe on this page uses pre-ground peppers and powders which you simply combine creating a simple, but super tasty blend. Click here to get the same recipe as below but which uses a few whole ingredients. (Link opens in new window)
