This is a super simple to make Chinese five spices powder which uses, as the name suggests, five authentic pre-ground spices and will add authentic flavours and mouthwatering aromas to your home cooked Chinese dishes and literally takes minutes to make from start to finish. (See the bottom of the page for links to more of my recipes)
Ingredients: (makes 4-5 tablespoons)
2 tbsp cinnamon powder
4
tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp ground star anise
2 tsp fennel powder
1 tsp ground cloves
tbsp = tablespoon
tsp = teaspoon
Directions:
That's all there is to it!
Store your 5 spice in an airtight jar, in a cool place and out of direct
sunlight. Use within 3 months.
Ingredient Note: I often use a few whole spices which I then grind and combine with other ingredients for my blends. However, what happens if you don't have whole?
