Why not have a go at making your own savoury popcorn seasoning recipes? It's really simple to do and this Cajun style blend will add a unique twist to your piping hot, buttery popcorn. (See the bottom of the page for links to more of my recipes)
What You'll Need: (makes about 7 tablespoons)
2 tbsp paprika powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
2 tsp dried basil
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp cayenne pepper (or chili powder)
1 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
tbsp = tablespoon
tsp = teaspoon
Directions:
That's all there is to it!
Store in an airtight jar out of sunlight. Use within 3 months.
Using the Blend: This is how I like to use mine. You may have your own preferred way...
For 2 servings, I use 1 tablespoon of the above mixed in about 6 tablespoons of melted butter. I then just pour it over the hot corn and shake well to get an even coating.
Note: If you make more servings, you can double or treble the amounts of butter and seasoning you use.
Salt Note: There is no salt in this recipe, so when you make your popcorn you can decide how much you like to use. Likewise if you like more heat, just add some more cayenne. Or if, like me, you love garlic, simply add an extra teaspoon or so.
